# How do I increase the size of my text field?

By default, text fields are set up to be single-line fields.

If you need a bigger text field, all you have to do is locate the "gear" icon on your field and click it to show it's settings (this can be done on the left-side panel of your editor or in the preview):


Then select the "multi-lines input" option and your field will change.


You can also set up the maximum number of characters (Notion has a maximum character limit of 2000).
